My ink & watercolour paintings are where I began, with meditation, rhythm and paint, in this case the wonderful transluscence of ink and watercolour. The very first paintings I produced blindfold, to push the boundaries of letting it happen, letting my soul express itself through energy in the moment. It was important for me to not force any outcome. The surprise of it meant I progressed through 300 paintings over two years.

Over time my paintings happened more naturally, as I also spent more time connecting with nature. Expression became easier and less contained, much less reluctant, and I believe my ink and watercolour paintings gave me all the experimentation with mark-making I needed as a foundation to what I produce now with mixed media.

With all my painting I allow it to happen without expectation or planning and see where it takes me – I'm still traveling through 'The Wheel', so to speak, and I aim to present similar light and pure vibrant colour in my mixed media artworks.
